Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LEE COUNTY, Fla. (March 4) – The Waynesburg University softball team opened 2018 with a bang during Sunday's opening day at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. The Yellow Jackets rolled to a pair of one-sided wins, beating Albion 6-1 and Anna Maria 14-0 (five innings).
 
Junior Courtney Messenger allowed just one hit in the circle and junior first baseman Alex Lawrence launched a two-run bomb in the opener. The freshman duo of Miranda Bowers and Emma Kubalak combined to give just four hits in the shutout victory.
