ERIE, Pa. (April 28) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team traveled to Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie to compete in this weekend's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) championships. The Yellow Jackets placed seventh in the nine-team field.
The Orange and Black was paced by senior
Andy Brunette, who placed third at third singles. Brunette opened his two-day run at the event with a 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 triumph over Westminster's A.J. May to advance to the semifinals. After falling into the third-place match, Brunette won another back-and-forth contest against Grove City's Andrew Graber. Brunette triumphed in a 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 matchup.
Thomas More won its second-straight PAC men's team title with 45 points. Grove City grabbed second with 38 points, while Washington & Jefferson rounded out the top three with 35 points.
Saint Vincent's Jon Pritchard won his third-straight PAC Player of the Year award after winning the title at first singles. Geneva's Madee Craft was named PAC Coach of the Year.
