Series Breakdown
All-Time Series: Waynesburg leads 29-19-7
First Meeting: 1899 (Waynesburg 28-0)
Last Meeting: 2015 (Bethany 27-14)

Waynesburg and Bethany renew their PAC rivalry on Saturday in West Virginia. The two teams have been off each other's schedules since 2015 due to Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve becoming affiliate members of the conference in 2014. Their addition gave the conference 11 football-playing members, resulting in an unbalanced schedule that kept each team from facing one PAC member each season.

The Yellow Jackets have not defeated the Bison since 2012. That six-year span since their last victory over Bethany makes it the longest winless drought by time of any current PAC opponent.

Bethany's Raekwon Wright and Waynesburg's Chad Walker established themselves as two of the top multi-purpose offensive threats in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC). Wright was named second-team All-PAC as an all-purpose back, while Walker was given the honorable mention nod at the same position.

If the Waynesburg defense can stop Bethany on third down, its special teams should be able to set the offense up with strong field position. The Yellow Jackets come into Saturday ranked number one in punt return average (10.3 yards per return).

Speaking of special teams, Waynesburg is one of just two teams in the conference to have converted multiple field goals. Freshman Garret Horne is two-for-two on three-point tries in 2018.

Going to the air on offense has been a dangerous proposition for teams facing the Bethany defense. The Bison have recorded a league-high four interceptions, one of which was run back for a score. Will Gatling helped lock up Bethany's 27-7 win over Grove City this past Saturday with a 45-yard return for a score in the first quarter.

Waynesburg sophomore wide receiver Cole Booth is off to a fast start, ranking second in the PAC in receiving yards per game (84.5). His nine catches rank him fourth in the league.

Booth also boasts the second longest reception in the PAC this season, pulling in and running with a 72-yard touchdown pass against Muskingum. The only player to record a longer pass player than Booth is Bethany's Darius Taylor, who hooked up with junior quarterback Carlin Bason on a 79-yard scoring toss against Grove City.

Bethany boasts a solid one-two punch on the ground in Wright and Bason. Bason ranks seventh in the PAC by averaging 80.5 yards per game, which is tops amongst signal callers. Wright is right behind his backfield mate with a 75.5 ypg average.
