WASHINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 16) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team traveled to Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday night for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Presidents. The Yellow Jackets came out on the wrong end of a 4-2 final score.
 
W&J (6-6-2, 3-0-1) opened the scoring with a goal in the 18^th minute. Waynesburg (3-8-2, 0-2-2) kept the difference at just one goal throughout the remainder of the first half. The game was ultimately decided in the 62^nd minute, when the Presidents scored twice within 27 seconds to go up 3-0. The home team extended its advantage to 4-0 late in the 67^th minute.
 
To Waynesburg's credit, it didn't give up as time ticked away. Senior Dante Ohm (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills) broke up the shutout with a goal in the 75^th minute. The game's final tally was posted roughly seven minutes courtesy of junior Kyle Deaner (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset). Deaner nearly scored again, but misfired wide of the goal mouth in the 86^th minute.
 
Senior Justin Buberl (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) attempted a team-high three shots for the Orange and Black.
 
Junior Adam Dolan (McDonald, Pa. / West Allegheny) started and was the goalie of record for Waynesburg after logging 76:40 in net. Freshman Matthew Hilarzewski (Crafton, Pa. / Carlynton) closed out the night by making one save over the final 13:20 of play.
 
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 19, when Westminster comes to John F. Wiley Stadium. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
