WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct .16) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team welcomed Westminster to John F. Wiley Stadium for a Saturday PAC showdown. The Yellow Jackets scored first, but the Titans responded in a big way as they logged a 5-1 win.
Senior
Jake Hall (State College, Pa. / State College) put Waynesburg (1-12, 0-6) up 1-0 midway through the fourth minute of play. The Jackets weren't able to hold the lead for long, as Westminster (10-5, 6-0) got the equalizer just five seconds later.
The Titans scored the eventual game winner late in the 34
th minute and took their 2-1 lead into the halftime break. The visiting team logged insurance goals in the 53
rd, 76
th and 80
th minutes.
Freshman
Michael Francus (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) started and made two saves over 90 minutes in net.
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 20, when it travels to Saint Vincent for the final road game of the fall. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
