PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 30) – The Waynesburg University men's cross country team traveled to the 2021 Presidents' Athletics Conference (PAC) Championships, which were hosted by Chatham University, on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets finished fifth in the nine-team field.
Waynesburg was led by sophomore
Andrew Kasper (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park), who earned second-team All-PAC applause after finishing 12
th in the 99-man field with a time of 28:50.58. A pair of Yellow Jackets also earned honorable mention all-conference laurels. Junior
Jac Cokley (Cohcranton, Pa. / Cochranton) and freshman
Nolan Curran (Ellwood City, Pa. / Ellwood City) finished 16
th and 20
th, respectively, with times of 29:06.04 and 29:30.09.
The Jackets' scoring five was completed by sophomores
Brendan Bloss (Bel Air, Md. / Patterson Mill) and
Matthew Shank (Windber, Pa. / Windber). Bloss posted the 46
th-place time of 30:56.74, while Shank crossed the finish line with the number-66 time of 32:37.12.
Waynesburg was represented on the PAC Sportsmanship Team by senior
Josh Hughes (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Beaver Falls).
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 13, when they compete in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships. The event is being held in Newville, Pennsylvania.
