PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Oct. 6) - The Waynesburg University men's soccer teams traveled to Chatham University on Wednesday night for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest. The two squads battled throug 63 scoreless minutes, but the Cougars scored twice down the stretch run to take a 2-0 victory.Â
As previously mentioned, Chatham (5-4-1, 2-1) broke up a scoreless tie late in the 63rd minute to post the game-winning goal. The home team slipped in an insurance point with just 57 seconds remaining in the contest.
After being outsthot 8-2 in the first half, Waynesburg (1-9, 0-3) rebounded to put up 11 shots in the second period, which was three more than Chatham attempted in the second half. Freshman
Seth Massotti (Douglas, Mass. / Whitinsville Christian) paced the Jacket attack with five total shots, four of which were on goal.Â
Sophomore
Zach Burke (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) got the start in goal and made eight saves over 90 minutes in net.Â
The Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 9, when they travel to Bethany. Start time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
