WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 8) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team played host to Allegheny for a Saturday night Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup. Unfortunately, the Gators found the back of the net in the 18
th minute and rode that score to a 1-0 win.
Allegheny (3-6-2, 2-1-2) tallied the game's only point 18:32 into the contest. The Gators out-shot Waynesburg (3-4-5, 1-1-3) on the night by a 19-13 margin, but the Yellow Jackets edged the opposition on shots on goal 7-6. Six different Waynesburg kickers combined for those seven attempts on net.
Sophomore
Michael Francus (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) got the start in goal and made three saves over 38:37 of play. Freshman
Clayton James (Silver Spring, Md. / St. John's College H.S.) played the final 51:23 of the contest and turned away both of Allegheny's shots they put on goal over that time frame.
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 12, when it travels to Bethany to face the defending PAC champions. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
