MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 18) – The Waynesburg University women's track & field team opened the outdoor portion of its schedule this weekend by competing at the Stan Romanoski Open, which was hosted by West Virginia University. There was no team scoring at the event.
The Yellow Jackets were led in the throws by senior
Becca Dolce (Hanover, Pa. / DeLone Catholic), who took ninth in the 39-woman shot put. Her top toss traveled 9.98 meters (32-9).
Moving to the track, freshman
Reagan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern) and junior
Joula Anderson (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Salem) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,500-meter steeplechase with times of 6:10.71 and 6:24.72.
Junior
Gabi Reifsnyder (Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) paced the Jackets in the 1,500 meters after finishing the 36-woman race in 5:34.61, which was good for 16
th place overall.
Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday, March 25, when it is scheduled to compete at Bethany.
