WAYNESBURG, Pa. (June 24) – Four Waynesburg University women's track & field student-athletes received Academic All-District status by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.

Recent graduate Megan Barry (North Huntington, Pa. / Norwin), rising senior Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) and rising juniors Natalie Double (Portersville, Pa. / Slippery Rock) and Peyton Kuhns (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) were honored. To qualify for Academic All-District honors in track & field, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 and hold an individual top-50 regional ranking in an event, either indoor or outdoor, as listed by TFRRS at the time of nomination.

Barry, a sports media (announcing) major with a 3.70 GPA, earned her third Academic All-District nod, becoming the first three-time honoree in program history. Outdoors, she ranked 15th in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the javelin and placed sixth at the PAC Championships. Her indoor weight throw PR at the PAC Championships ranks 10th in Waynesburg history.

Tanksley, an environmental science major carrying a 3.80 GPA, earned her second Academic All-District selection. Outdoors, was the PAC champion in the 10,000 meters with one of the fastest times in program history, ranked 22nd regionally in the 10k. During the cross country season, she earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors with a 16th-place finish at the PAC Championships and ran as Waynesburg's top finisher in all eight meets.

Double, a professional writing major boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA, secured her first Academic All-District honor. She was named USTFCCCA All-Region in the javelin and earned All-PAC Honorable Mention with a third-place finish at the PAC Outdoor Championships. Double ranked fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the javelin and claimed multiple meet titles, including at Grove City and WVU's Mountaineer Twilight.

Kuhns, a psychology major with a 3.83 GPA, also earned her first Academic All-District honor. She competed in five meets outdoors and ranked 34th regionally in the javelin, setting a season-best mark at Slippery Rock.

The Academic All-District program honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and the classroom.
