BEREA, Ohio (Sept. 16) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team traveled to Baldwin Wallace on Saturday for a battle of the Yellow Jackets. Waynesburg fell by the final score of 4-1.
BW (3-3-1) took a 1-0 lead midway through the 7
th minute and held it until the halftime break. After 26 minutes of play in period number two, the host squad doubled its advantage to 2-0 with 19 minutes left to play.
Waynesburg (3-2) got back into the contest thanks to senior
Tyler Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom), who posted an unassisted goal just 3:39 after the host team's second score. Unfortunately, Baldwin Wallace put the game away with a pair of scores over a 2:23 span.
Junior goalkeeper
Michael Francus (Bethel Park, Pa. / Bethel Park) did all he could to keep his team in it, as he racked up a season-high 14 saves on the night.
The Jackets return to action by opening Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play at Franciscan on Wednesday, Sept. 20. Start time against the 2022 conference champions is scheduled for 5 p.m.
