LOCK HAVEN, Pa. (Sept. 23) – Despite heavy rains hammering the course, the Waynesburg University women's cross country team competed in Saturday's 22
nd annual Lock Haven Invitational. The Yellow Jackets completed in the 6K White Race and placed ninth out of 17 teams.
Waynesburg was led by sophomore
Reagan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern), who crossed the finish line with a team-best 18
th-place finish thanks to a time of 24:17.7. Classmate
Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) was the next Orange and Black runner to complete the soggy course with the number-38 time of 25:018.
Senior
Michaela Rose (Sandy Lake, Pa. / Lakeview) took 96
th in the 168-runner field with a mark of 26:19.8 and was followed closely across the finish line by junior
Jaylene Mundorff (Cross Creek, Pa. / Avella). Mundorff placed 101
st thanks to a time of 26:26.2. Waynesburg's top five was completed by senior
Gabrielle Menuchak (Schuykill Haven, Pa. / Blue Mountain), who ran to a mark of 26:56.4.
The Jackets are back in action on Friday, Sept. 29, when they take part in the Tomcat Rumble, which is being hosted by Thiel.
