UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio (November 24) – The Waynesburg University women's wrestling team had three wrestlers compete at the John Carroll Duals on Sunday.

The Jackets had Faryn Dewitt (Scottdale, Pa. / Southmoreland) at 110 pounds, Melanie Matherson (Fort Cherry, Pa. / Fort Cherry) at 145 and Ja'Khia Matthews (Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) at 207 pounds representing the Yellow Jackets in the head-to-head event. 

Waynesburg was defeated by host John Carroll 30-9, Mount Union 39-0, Otterbein 30-5 and Buffalo State 35-5.

Dewitt led the Jackets on the day with a pair of victories. She earned a 16-6 decision against John Carroll and closed her day with a second period fall (4:34) against Buffalo State.

Matthews picked up a forfeit against John Carroll and Matherson won by forfeit against Otterbein. 

Waynesburg returns to action at Heidelberg's Kalahari Duals on Dec. 14.
