TRAFFORD, Pa. (March 18) – Waynesburg University sophomore
Autumn Stemple (Morgantown, W.Va. / University) was tabbed as the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Stemple was the winning pitcher in both of her appearances for the Yellow Jackets last week. She struck out 13 batters in 13.1 innings while allowing two runs on seven hits.
Stemple tossed a complete game in a 2-1 victory over Carlow. She struck out six and allowed four hits and no walks in the one-run victory.
On Saturday at John Carroll she punched out seven while allowing one run in 6.1 innings. Stemple was the winning pitcher in the 3-1 triumph over the Blue Streaks.
Stemple is third in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in ERA (0.60) and batting average against (.135). Her 15 strikeouts on the year are a team-best.
Waynesburg softball posted a 4-0 week with doubleheader sweeps over Carlow and John Carroll.
The Jackets host Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday before starting PAC play on Saturday against Thiel.
