HIRAM, Ohio (January 12) – The Waynesburg University women's wrestling team took on Tiffin and Hiram in a tri match at Hiram on Saturday afternoon. The Jackets fell to the Dragons 34-5 and to the Terriers 28-10.

Waynesburg filled five weight classes at the event. Faryn Dewitt (Scottdale, Pa. / Southmoreland) took a win via injury default at 117 pounds against Tiffin. The Jackets collected a pair of forfeits with Melanie Matherson (Fort Cherry, Pa. / Fort Cherry) (131) and Ja'Khia Matthews (Charlottesville, Va. / Albemarle) (207) each earning five points against Hiram.

Kaylee Jegla (Chesterfield, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse High School North) at 138 points and Rylie Alexander (Mount Clemens, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse High School North) at 180 pounds both had the opportunity to compete in bouts in both matches.

The Yellow Jackets host Bethany and Buffalo State in the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Thursday.
