Yellow Jackets can't hold early lead in 2-1 setback at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 1) - The Waynesburg University men's soccer team suffered its first loss in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play this fall, when it traveled to Allegheny on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets fell 2-1 to the host Gators

Waynesburg (6-3-1, 1-1-1) started out hot with a goal in the ninth minute. Sophomore Sarpong Kwabiah (Odenton, Md. / Meade) assisted on the score with a corner kick.

The Gators (3-5-4, 1-1-1) struck back with two goals of their own to claim a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.

The second half belonged to the goalies, who tallied four saves each over the final 45 minutes

Johnson ended the game with five total shots, four of which were on net. Freshman John Engel (Dallas, Ga. / East Paulding) had four shots, two of which were on goal.

Freshman keeper Deven Patel (Columbus, Ohio / St. Francis DeSales) finished with nine total saves, giving him 21 over the past two games.

The Jackets and Gators tied in both total shots (18) and shots on goal (11). The Jackets attempted 13 corners to the Gators' two.
