Waynesburg (6-3-1, 1-1-1) started out hot with a goal in the ninth minute. Junior
Zachary Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / Saint Joseph Central Catholic) scored a highlight reel header that hit off the crossbar, went off the goalie's back, and went in. Sophomore
Sarpong Kwabiah (Odenton, Md. / Meade) assisted on the score with a corner kick.

The Gators (3-5-4, 1-1-1) struck back with two goals of their own to claim a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.

The second half belonged to the goalies, who tallied four saves each over the final 45 minutes

Johnson ended the game with five total shots, four of which were on net. Freshman
John Engel (Dallas, Ga. / East Paulding) had four shots, two of which were on goal.

Deven Patel (Columbus, Ohio / St. Francis DeSales) finished with nine total saves, giving him 21 over the past two games.

The Jackets and Gators tied in both total shots (18) and shots on goal (11). The Jackets attempted 13 corners to the Gators' two.

Waynesburg will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 3 p.m., when it travels to take on Washington and Jefferson in another conference clash.
