BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 25) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team traveled to Geneva on Saturday for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest. The Yellow Jackets hung around with the traditional conference powerhouse for the vast majority of the evening, but a goal with 20 seconds showing on the clock proved to be the difference in a 1-0 contest.
The Yellow Jackets (7-4-6, 2-2-6) struggled to get the offense humming over the first 45 minutes but kept the game scoreless through the first half thanks to freshman goalkeeper
Deven Patel (Columbus, Ohio / St. Francis DeSales), who turned away all three shots on goal produced by Geneva (5-9-2, 4-4-2).
Coming out of halftime, it was more of the same on both ends. The Jackets were able to get one shot on goal, which came courtesy of sophomore
Sarpong Kwabiah (Odenton, Md. / Meade) and five shots altogether.
Waynesburg wraps up its regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 29, when it hosts PAC-leading Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
