WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 7) – The Waynesburg University women's wrestling team hosted Penn State Altoona for its first dual match of the season. The Yellow Jackets took down the Lions 30-24 for the first dual win in program history.
 
The Jackets (1-0) received forfeits at 110, 117, 138, 180 and 207 pounds on their way to netting second-year head coach Karli Thomas her first win as the program's leader.
 
After picking up one of her team's forfeits at 117 pounds, freshman Anastasia Curitti (Fernley, Nev. / Coral Academy of Science) logged a win in live action by sticking her opponent at a 124-pound extra bout in 1:26.
 
Waynesburg is back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 12, when it travels to Pitt Johnstown for its first road dual match of the season. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
