Outdoor Track & Field begins 2025 campaign at Marty Pushkin Invite

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 22) – The Waynesburg University men's and women's outdoor track & field teams began their 2025 season at West Virginia University's Marty Pushkin Invitational on Saturday.

Competing against competition from NCAA Division I, II and III, the Yellow Jackets notched numerous top-10 meet finishes and top-10 program marks. 

Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) ran the fifth-fastest 1500 in program history with a time of 4:12.17. He placed seventh overall in the 43-man field and was the top Division III finisher at the meet. 

Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) notched the fourth-farthest shot put in team history and placed fifth overall with a mark of 14.27 meters. He also recorded the program's No. 2 hammer throw of 37.26 meters to finish 13th and was ninth in the discus at 40.19 meters.

Maggie Clair (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon McMillan) placed fifth in the women's shot put at 11.35 meters. Natalie Double (Portersville, Pa. / Slippery Rock) placed fifth (34.66 meters) and Megan Barry (North Huntington, Pa. / Norwin) was eighth (33.68 meters) in the javelin. 

Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends) took fifth in the long jump at 5.97 meters and Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.46. Both Jones and Casella were the top DIII finishers in their events.

John Stewart (Lancaster, Pa. / JP McCaskey) was ninth in the discus at 41.16 meters and Ryan Zawislak (Rochester, Pa. / Rochester) set a personal record and finished 10th at 36.86 meters.

Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, Md. / Watkins Mill) finished 10th in the long jump (4.57 meters) and 11th in the 200 (28.39). She was the No. 3 Division III finisher in both events.

Reagan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern) notched a 10th-place finish in the 1500-meter steeplechase in 6:26.71

Rylie Baker (Weirton, W.Va. / Weir) notched the No. 2 hammer throw in team history at 29.39 meters and Barry posted the ninth-fastest hammer at 22.57 meters. 

Waynesburg returns to action next Saturday at West Liberty's Tim Weaver Invitational.
