WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 13) –Junior guard
Jalen Goins (Morgantown, W.Va. / Morgantown) of the Waynesburg University men's basketball program was selected as an Academic All-District honoree by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Goins is a business management major with a 3.62 cumulative grade-point average. He started 24 of 25 games in the 2024-25 season and averaged 7.6 points with 2.4 rebounds. Goins was Waynesburg's top three-point shooter as he drained 34 treys at 35.1%.
Goins scored a season-high 17 points against conference foe Saint Vincent and forced overtime with a bucket in the final minute of regulation in the Jackets' win over Franciscan.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athletes that excel on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for academic all-district status, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least two-thirds of the team's games. An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
