WAYNESBURG, Pa. (March 31) – The Waynesburg University softball team will hold its fourth annual "Angels in the Outfield" suicide awareness games on Wednesday, April 2 when the Jackets take on Geneva at the Waynesburg University Baseball & Softball Complex.

The Yellow Jackets will don purple and teal accessories and warm up in t-shirts sponsored by Team Hope, a local suicide awareness and prevention group and the Greene County Chapter of Together with Veterans, a community-based suicide prevention program for rural veterans. Spectators can place an order for the 2025 Angels in the Outfield event shirts at the game.

The Waynesburg University Sports Network will provide a multi-camera production of both games.

Fans can show their support by wearing purple and teal. They will also have the opportunity to give to the Nyjel Paul Miller Tears in Heaven, Endowed Scholarship Fund, Team Hope and Together With Veterans.

The Nyjel Paul Miller Tears in Heaven Memorial Endowed Scholarship is awarded to a student attending Waynesburg University who meets financial aid criteria set forth by University policy and the Office of Financial Aid.

The scholarship fund was created by Nyjel's father, Allen, who is an employee of Waynesburg University. His hope is that the scholarship can provide students the opportunity to pursue their educational and career goals, while displaying a strong love and compassion towards those around them. This philosophy is reflected in the mission of the university itself and in Nyjel's life.

First pitch for Waynesburg and Geneva is set for 3:30 p.m.
