MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 2) – The Waynesburg University men's outdoor track & field team placed sixth at the 2025 Presidents' Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at West Virginia University's Mylan Park on Thursday and Friday.
The Yellow Jackets were picked eighth in the PAC Pre-Championships Coaches' Poll and overperformed for the second-straight season. Waynesburg notched 51 points across nine events with 11 individual scorers and two relays. Grove City took the team title with 157 points.
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) claimed the PAC's outdoor shot put crown after taking the indoor title in February. He reset his own outdoor shot put program record with a heave of 15.04 meters on his first attempt of the day.
The Jackets had three scorers in the shot put as
Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) was sixth and
John Stewart (Lancaster, Pa. / JP McCaskey) placed eighth at 13.21 meters, both distances were personal records.
Stewart placed third in the discus at 41.94 meters. Harker followed in fourth at 41.51 meters and
Ryan Zawislak (Rochester, Pa. / Rochester) also scored with a seventh-place showing at 39.72 meters.
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) turned in a season-best time in 400-meter hurdles to take fourth in 58.07.
Dagyn Williams (Leslie, Ark. / Marshall) notched a PR and collected a sixth-place finish in the 400.
Quintin Weaver finished fifth in the 800 in 1:56.34.
Noah Arterbery (Gainesville, Va. / Gainesville) secured a point for the Jackets in the 200 with a personal best time of 23.06, good for eighth.
Adam Helbling (McDonald, Pa. / South Fayette) leapt onto Waynesburg's all-time top-10 in the long jump. He posted a PR of 6.35 meters to finish fourth and rank eighth in team history. He also took 10th in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 12.55, less than a decimeter from landing on Waynesburg's program top-10 list.
Waynesburg's 4x400-meter relay unit of Williams,
Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends), Casella and Weaver placed fourth in 3:26.23. The quartet's time ranks sixth in program history.
Waynesburg continues its season tomorrow at WVU's Stan Romanoski Open.
