McKEESPORT, Pa. (Sept. 20) – The Waynesburg University women's golf team picked up its first victory of the 2025–26 season in a head-to-head matchup with Carlow at Youghiogheny Country Club. The Yellow Jackets carded a 463 as a team, while the Celtics did not post a team score with only three competitors.
Freshman
Avery Davis (Waynesburg, Pa. / Waynesburg Central) led the Jackets with a round of 101 to place second overall in the six-golfer field. Senior
Allison Wolling (West Newton, Pa. / Yough) followed at 106, while sophomore
Abigail Noble (Jefferson, Pa. / Jefferson-Morgan) finished at 113. Freshman
Leigha Clapper (Bellwood, Pa. / Bellwood-Antis) rounded out the lineup at 143.
Carlow's Maci Lorigan took individual medalist honors with a round of 90.
Waynesburg returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 27, when it competes at the Franciscan Fall Invitational, hosted at Steubenville Country Club in Steubenville, Ohio.
