NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Sept. 24) - The Waynesburg University Men's soccer team played their first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game of the season against Westminster on Wednesday evening. The Yellow Jackets battled the Titans to a 0-0 draw.

Both teams produced immense pressure on the opposing goals in the first half. The Yellow Jackets (5-2-1, 0-0-1) recorded nine shots, three of which were on goal. The Titans (0-6-2, 0-0-1) produced seven shots, with two being on net.

Junior
Zachary Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / Saint Joseph Central Catholic) owned four of the nine shots for the Jackets in the first half and had one that was saved by the Titan keeper.

In the second half, freshman
John Engel (Dallas, Ga. / East Paulding) put two shots on goal, while sophomore
Sarpong Kwabiah (Odenton, Md. / Meade) had four shots of his own, with one going on goal.

Freshman keeper
Deven Patel (Columbus, Ohio / St. Francis DeSales) recorded two saves in the first half, continuing his impressive rookie season. He did not record any in the second half, but he picked up his third clean sheet of the season.

The Jackets excelled on the stat sheet as they bested the Titans in shots 16-11 (6-2 SOG). They also led in corners, racking up 14, while the Titans only had one.

The Jackets return home on Saturday with a 1 p.m. PAC match against Bethany.
