WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Nov. 3) – There were a slew of highlight level plays and outstanding performances that led the Waynesburg University football team to a 40-39 win at Hiram on Saturday. Senior
Ethan Floyd (Philippi, W.Va. / Philip Barbour) and junior Ishaak Adam (Carnegie, Pa. / Chartiers Valley) were honored for their efforts as members of the latest D3Football.com National Team of the Week.
Adam was an absolute monster on the defensive line. He piled up a game-high nine tackles, all of which were solo stops. Nearly half of those tackles were for loss and he posted a pair of sacks. His 4.0 tackles for loss are the most by any player in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) this season.
Floyd blocked a punt, scooped up the loose ball and ran it back 34 yards for a touchdown during Saturday's victory. That score cut the Hiram lead to 27-26 late in the third quarter and kept the Yellow Jackets within striking distance to make their fourth-quarter comeback. He also completed a fair catch at the 50-yard line that drew a kick catch interference flag and was followed by a personal foul penalty that gave Waynesburg the ball at the Terrier 12. One play later, the Jackets were in the end zone.
Floyd was also named PAC Special Teams Player of the Week.
