FROSTBURG, Md. (Feb. 7) – The Waynesburg University women's wrestling team wrapped up its 2025-26 regular season schedule on Saturday with a trip to the Bobcat Open, which was hosted by Frostburg State University. The Yellow Jackets placed 16^th in the team standings with 11.0 points.
 
Junior Rylie Alexander (Mount Clemens, Mich. / L'Anse Creuse High School North) went 2-2 at 180 pounds. After dropping into consolations, Alexander defeated freshman teammate Addison Soost (Uniontown, Pa. / Laurel Highlands) by 10-0 technical superiority. She added a victory by injury default in her bout with Nicolle Ayala Mata of Marymount, before ending her day.
 
Sophomore Ja'Khia Matthews (Phoenix, Ariz. / Albermale) picked up a win at 207 pounds when she pinned McDaniel's Kayla Carter in 1:50. She wound up on the podium when she qualified for the seventh-place match, but forfeited, which gave her eighth place.
 
The host Bobcats took the team title with 206.0 points.
