Harker logs two victories to pace Jackets at Pushkin Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (March 21) – The Waynesburg University men's track & field team opened the outdoor portion of its schedule this weekend at the Marty Pushkin Invitational, which was hosted by West Virginia University. There was no team scoring at the meet, but junior Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) posted a pair of victories in the throwing events to highlight the Yellow Jackets' trip.
 
Harker added another win in the shot put with a top heave of 14.82 meters, which ranks second in the team record book. The third-year standout also bested a field of 21 other competitors to win the discus with a toss of 40.67 meters. He completed his day with a ninth-place effort in the hammer throw. Harker's throw of 36.54 meters put him in the number-five spot in program history.

400 Meter Hurdles
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway): 5th place – 59.48 seconds
 
Long Jump
Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends): 10th place – 6.17 meters
 
1,500 Meters
Ethan Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Redeemer Lutheran): 21st place – 4:16.06
 
800 Meters
Wilson: 22nd place – 2:01.02
 
Waynesburg returns to competition on Saturday, March 28. They will compete at either Carnegie Mellon or West Liberty.
