NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 11) – The Waynesburg University men's track and field team competed at the Westminster Invitational this Saturday. While there was no team scoring at the event, senior Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) continued his impressive throwing career by picking up a victory in the shotput and a podium finish in the discus.

Harker etched his name in the record books again, raising the bar of his shot put record with a heave of 15.34 meters, which broke the record he set last season by 0.30 meters. His toss was good enough to claim the individual title in a field of 30 competitors from NCAA Division II and III institutions.

Harker also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 40.60 meters.

Here are some of the other top Jacket performances from New Wilmington.

400 Meter Hurdles
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) 7th place – 58.38 seconds

Discus
Liam Smith (Bridgeville, Pa. / South Fayette) 13th place – 31.62 meters

Waynesburg will compete in its final tune-up before the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Saturday, April 18, when it participates in the Mountaineer Twilight held by West Virginia University.
