Harker shines as men's track competes at PAC Championships

Junior star wins the shot put, takes third in the discus and places fourth in the hammer

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 1) – The Waynesburg University men's track & field team wrapped up the 2025-26 season at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which were hosted by West Virginia University. The Yellow Jackets placed 10th in the 12-team field.
 
Junior Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll), who won his second-straight outdoor title in the shot put and his fourth-straight title combined between indoor and outdoor competition, led Waynesburg over the two days of competition. His winning heave of 15.10 meters was more than a full meter further than the second-place performer.
 
Harker added a bronze medal in the discus (40.66 meters) and took fourth in the hammer throw (42.22 meters). The standout scored 21 one of his team's 26 team points.
 
Sophomore Ethan Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Redeemer Lutheran) also reached the podium thanks to the seventh-place time in the 1,500 meters (4:05.85). Junior Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) matched Wilson with the number-seven time in the 400-meter hurdles (58.17 seconds).
 
Waynesburg's 4x400-meter relay team added to its points total with an eighth-place finish. Casella and Wilson joined senior Dequan DeBauche (Brookfield, Wisc. / Brookfield East) and junior Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends) in crossing the finish line in 3:31.01.
 
Geneva took home this year's team title.
