PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 16) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team opened up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play at Chatham on Wednesday night. The Yellow Jackets played to a 1-1 draw against the Cougars
After a half-hour of scoreless play, Chatham (0-3-2, 0-1-1) found the back of the net on its first shot on goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Roughly 12 minutes into the second half, Waynesburg (2-1-2, 0-0-1) junior midfielder
Sarpong Kwabiah (Odenton, Md. / Meade) tied the game on a shot to the right side past the diving goalkeeper. It was Kwabiah's third goal in the last two games.
Despite multiple late opportunities from each side, the score remained 1-1 until the final buzzer sounded.

Zach Reed (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) stopped seven of the eight shots he faced, including a diving stop late in the second half to keep the game at a draw.
Chatham doubled Waynesburg in shots (16-8) and shots on goal (8-4), while the Yellow Jackets dominated in corners (11-3).
Waynesburg returns home to John F. Wiley Stadium this Saturday for a 4 p.m. PAC match against Geneva College.
