WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 19) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team hosted Geneva for its first home Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game of the season. The Golden Tornadoes left town with a 3-0 win.
Geneva (2-2-1, 1-1) found the back of the net with just over four minutes to play in the first half, breaking a scoreless tie after 40 minutes. Geneva extended its lead to 2-0 10 minutes into the second half and tallied the game's final point in the 75
th minute.
Two keepers saw action for Waynesburg, (2-2-2, 0-1-1), as senior
Zach Reed (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Seton LaSalle) started and was relieved by freshman
Grant Slutter (Landisville, Pa. / Hempfield) . Reed finished with eight saves on the 10 shots he faced, while Slutter stopped two of the three shots his way, one of which was on a penalty kick.
Waynesburg returns to the pitch when it travels to Bethany this Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. scheduled start.
