Waynesburg ends season with 9-0 win over Chargers

LANCASTER, Pa. (Apr. 25) – The Waynesburg men's tennis team capped their 2009 season in impressive fashion as they swept through their match with Lancaster Bible College by the final of 9-0 on Saturday.

The victory capped a 7-4 season for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jackets got things underway by sweeping their doubles matches for the second-straight contest. Senior Kevin Houseknecht and junior Jeff Canning teamed up to dominate at first doubles by the final of 8-0.

The duo of sophomore Emile Khoury and freshman Peter Mally kept the momentum rolling at second doubles with an 8-0 victory. The Yellow Jackets completed a perfect run through the doubles matches thanks to an 8-3 triumph by senior Dustin Cozad and junior Adam Woodruff.

Waynesburg didn't miss a beat when the singles matches took the courts. All six doubles players won their singles matches in straight sets to complete the 9-0 triumph.
