WASHINGTON, Pa. (April 11) – The Waynesburg University women's golf team competed in Monday's W&J Spring Invitational at Southpointe Golf Course.
A trio of Yellow Jackets competed as individuals at the event and was led by freshman
Madison Presto, who tied for 14
th at the 25-woman event by shooting a 104 on the Par-72 course. Senior
Katie Rihn placed 24
th with a 119 and sophomore
Lizz Bombara made her debut with the team by carding a 128, which placed her 25
th on the day.
Division II West Virginia Wesleyan, which put together a four-woman score of 373. Wesleyan also boasted the individual medalist, Kathryn Alvaro, who carded a 14-over 86 to take the victory.
Waynesburg is back on the course on Friday, April 15, when the Jackets take part in the Saint Vincent College Invitational at Glengarry Links. The first golfers are scheduled to tee off at 12 p.m.
