FROSTBURG, Md. (Sept. 14) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team faced an offensive barrage at Frostburg State on Wednesday night at Frostburg State University. However, the Yellow Jackets nearly weathered the assault without a scratch.
Unfortunately, the undefeated Bobcats were able to slip a shot past the Yellow Jackets and pulled out a 1-0 win. With the loss, Waynesburg fell to 1-3 on the season, while FSU improved to 3-0-1 for the year.
Frostburg scored the game's only goal in the 30
th minute of competition, but senior goalkeeper
Ryan Hunsberger still had a solid night in net. The veteran faced 19 shots, including seven on net, and made six saves.
FSU held major advantages in multiple statistical categories, including shots (19-3), shots on goal (7-1) and corner kicks (7-1). The Jackets will look to regain their offense and get back on the winning track on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they host Pitt-Greensburg for a 7 p.m. contest.
