Men's soccer rolls to 5-0 road win

Anuwe buries two goals against Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 3) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team improved 1-1 on the season after an impressive 5-0 road win at Franciscan University on Saturday.
 
Freshman Nick Brommer scored the first and eventual game-winning goal in the 26th minute off an assist by sophomore Stephen Zimmerman. Waynesburg made it 2-0 before halftime when senior David Floyd buried his first goal of the season off an assist from freshman Cody Lemke.
 
Things continued to go Waynesburg's way in the second half as freshman Jude Anuwe buried a pair of unassisted goals in the 47th and 53rd minutes to make it 4-0 Jackets. Another first-year Jacket, Zachary DiBeradin, brought about the final score off an assist from classmate Colin Nelson.
 
Senior Ryan Hunsberger stopped all six shots on net that he faced over 90 minutes of action. The Jackets held a 29-11 overall advantage in total shots.
 
The Waynesburg men return home to John F. Wiley Stadium on Tuesday, Sept. 6, to face off with La Roche College at 8:15 p.m.
