Box Score WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 30) – The Waynesburg University men's soccer team put together perhaps its best performance of the season on Tuesday night, despite not scoring a single goal.
The Yellow Jackets welcomed a Frostburg State team to John F. Wiley Stadium that was not only riding a four-game winning streak, but hadn't given up a goal over that same stretch. However, the Waynesburg defense and senior goalkeeper
Brandon Daughtry were up to the challenge as they led the home team to a 0-0 double-overtime scoreless tie.
Daughtry stood tall and made seven saves, all in regulation, to send the game into overtime. The Jacket defense took over there and allowed just one shot to the Bobcats (6-2-2) over 20 minutes of overtime.
Waynesburg (4-4-3) gets backs in action on Friday, Oct. 3, when it opens up Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) when it hosts Grove City. Start time is scheduled for 8 p.m.
