NEWVILLE, Pa. (Sept. 25) – The Waynesburg University men's cross country team traveled to the highly competitive Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets competed in the men's 8,000-meter "long" race and finished ninth out of 21 teams.
Waynesburg was led by sophomore
Andrew Kasper (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park), who finished 18
th in the 141-man field with a time of 28:08.86. Junior
Jac Cokley (Cochranton, Pa. / Cochranton) was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line, which he did with the 24
th-place time of 28:38.01.
Sophomores
Brendan Bloss (Bel Air, Md. / Patterson Mill) and
Matthew Shank (Windber, Pa. / Windber) finished 73
rd and 89
th, respectively, with times of 30:54.28 and 31:53.88. Waynesburg's scoring five was completed by senior
Josh Hughes (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Beaver Falls), who finished 91
st with a mark of 31:56.78.
The Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 2, then they compete in Waynesburg's Homecoming 5K.
