Weaver, Kasper, Mathews set program records at 2024 PAC Championships

Jackets finish 7th as a team

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (Feb. 23) -- The Waynesburg University men's indoor track and field team finished in seventh with 41 team points at the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Track and Filed Championships held Thursday at Youngstown State University. Below are the Jackets' top performers from the meet.

800 Meters
Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) set the program record by nearly 5 seconds as he placed second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:53.56. Weaver also surpassed the previous PAC record with his run.

High Jump
Kai Herbert (Baltimore, Md. / Mt. St. Joseph) took home bronze and tied his personal indoor record with a 1.85-meter jump.

Distance Medley Relay
The DMR quartet of Weaver, Noah Jones (Rockville, Maryland / Sandy Spring Friends School), Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) and Andrew Kasper (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) topped the program record by over 18 seconds and placed third with a time of 10:45.63. 

5,000 Meters
Kasper finished sixth and set a Jackets record by over 30 seconds with a time of 15:37.15.

Shot Put
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll) took home fourth and is now fourth in program history with a 13.89-meter throw.

60 Meters
Isaiah Mathews (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Montour) set the program record and placed sixth with a 7.08-second sprint.

60-Meter Hurdles
Herbert placed sixth and is now third in program history with an 8.85 second run. Herbert now holds spots one, three and seven on the Jackets' program record sheet.

200 Meters
Mathews finished 10th and now holds the top two spots in Jackets' history with a 23.03-second sprint.

Long Jump
Adam Helbling (McDonald, Pa. / South Fayette) took seventh and is now seventh in program history with a 6.25-meter jump.

Weight Throw
Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) placed fifth and is now seventh in program history with a 13.32-meter throw.

The Jackets return to action Saturday, March 2 for the Last Chance Meet at Ohio Northern University.
