MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 25) – The Waynesburg University women's outdoor track & field team had seven top-10 individual finishes at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Thursday and Friday.
The Jackets scored in four different events and finished tied for ninth of 11 PAC teams with 19 points at the conference championship meet.
The Jackets had four scorers in the opening session at the championships on Friday evening.
Megan Barry (North Huntington, Pa. / Norwin) notched a season-best javelin throw of 37.10 meters to finish fourth.
Natalie Double (Portersville, Pa. / Slippery Rock) followed in sixth in the javelin with a personal record of 35.41 meters.
Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) finished fourth in the 10k in 39:37.82, a PR and the fifth-fastest time in the event in program history.
Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, MD / Watkins Mill) notched a personal best in the triple jump (10.37 meters) to finish seventh overall.
On Friday Rishell crossed the finish line in the 200 in 26.38 to finish fifth with a PR and the sixth-fastest time in program history. She also notched a PB in the long jump at 4.75 meters to finish 11th.
Reagan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern) finished ninth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 12:41.62.
Maeve Hanley placed 10th in the high jump (1.43 meters).
Sam Kelly (Cumberland, Md. / Allegany) was named as Waynesburg's representative on the PAC Sportsmanship Team.
