NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (April 11) – The Waynesburg University women's track and field team competed at the Westminster Invitational on Saturday. There was no team scoring at the event, but the Yellow Jackets produced a trio of top-five performances.
 
Senior Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) took second overall in the 10,000 meters with a time of 39:20.87. Following Tanksley was freshman Erin Belveal (Bay Village, Ohio / Bay), who claimed fourth after clocking a 40:49.89.
 
The 4x400-meter relay team of senior Ella Boothe (Fredericktown, Pa. / Beth-Center), junior Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, Md. / Watkins Mill), Adaire Settles (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan), and freshman Chanelle Sutton (Mount Storm, W.Va. / Union Educational Complex) broke the line at 4:14.40 to finish fourth overall in a race that contained 13 teams from Division II and Division III institutions.

400 Meter Hurdles
Settles: 10th Place – 1:09.75
 
Long Jump
Rishell: 14th place – 4.82 m
 
Shot Put
Gabrielle Chico (Morgantown, W.Va. / University): 20th place – 10.02 m
 
Waynesburg will compete one more time before the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships. They are scheduled to be in action on Saturday, April 18, at the Mountaineer Twilight held by West Virginia University.
