SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (April 6) – The Waynesburg University outdoor track & field teams continued their 2024 season at the Dave Labor Invitational at Slippery Rock on Saturday. The Jackets notched six top-eight finishes on the day.
Andrew Kasper (Orchard Park, N.Y. / Orchard Park) improved upon his own school record in the men's 10k as he ran 32:31.84 to finish second. Luke Whisel followed in 14th (35:31.51).
Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) ran to a runner-up finish in the 800 in 1:56.76. He was 17th in the men's 5k in 16:22.84.
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) posted a fifth-place overall finish in the men's 400 meter hurdles and won his heat in 57.99.
Isaiah Matthews (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Montour) ran 22.27 in the men's 200 to finish seventh.
Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) and
Gabi Reifsnyder (Carlisle, Pa. / Big Spring) were top-eight finishes in the women's 10k. Tanksley finished in 42:18.27 and Reifsnyder crossed in 42:18.47.
Raegan Pettis (West Springfield, Pa. / Northwestern) finished 11th in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase in 13:00.77.
Matt Shank (Winder, Pa. / Windber) crossed 16th in the 3k steeple chase in 10:56.63.
In the women's 400,
Ella Rishell (Montgomery County, MD / Watkins Mill) was 19th in 1:05.31 and Ella Booth (Fredericktown, Pa. / Bethlehem Center) followed in 20th in 1:05.58. Rishell placed 20th in a 59-woman field in 200 meter dash in 27.21.
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) was 16th in the shot put (14.11 meters), John Stewart (Lancaster, Pa. / JP McCaskey) finished 17th (38.25 meters) and Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) placed 18th in the hammer throw (33.39 meters).
Peyton Kuhns (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon-McMillan) finished 16th in the women's javelin in 30.98 meters.
The Jackets head to the Westminster Invitational next Saturday.
