WAYNESBURG, Pa. (January 28) - The Waynesburg University men's soccer team will be hosting a one-day ID camp on Saturday, July 26. The full day of instruction is structured to be unique experience that those attending the event will only receive at Waynesburg.
The camp is open to high school age athletes and begins at 9:30 a.m. with a 30-minute check-in time. There is an $75.00 fee for each individual attending the event.
The first instructional session runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. at John F. Wiley Stadium. After a quick lunch (12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.) at Waynesburg's Benedum Dining Hall, the clinic's focus will shift from the pitch to one of the classrooms in the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Following the classroom session, all attendees will return to Wiley Stadium for the second and final instructional session of the day, which will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
In order to make the Waynesburg University men's soccer ID Clinic as effective as possible, there will be a limit on the number of participants accepted to the camp in order to maximize the attention given to each camper, who will be trained in the same manner as collegiate players.
All participants are asked to either drive themselves or have a ride available to get them to and from John F. Wiley Stadium as the camp moves to and from the athletics facility and main campus.
Coach Lunger has this to say about the experience, "A few things that make our experience worth it: We keep the cost and number of participants lower than the average ID clinic – it a two-way process, you get to spend time with us as much as we want to spend time with you. We do a recruiting seminar, along with two field sessions – detailing some of the finer points of the college soccer/recruiting process, while also sharing who WU men's soccer are. We train you like one of our players – so you can see what it's like to be a member of the team. We go over our wellness tracking, how we use GPS tracking, and how it all positions our players for success through physical training data".
We look forward to creating an event that is sure to help aspiring Jackets and other players alike. Click HERE to register for ID camp. (REGISTRATION HAS BEEN CLOSED)
