Waynesburg, Pa (December 16) - The esports team will be hosting ten high school teams in a high school esports tournament on December 17th. Teams from across western PA will be converging on the Esports Arena to battle for Rocket League and Super Smash Brothers supremacy.

The Rocket League tournament will be a double elimination tournament with best-of-five matches. Team participating in the Rocket League tournament will include: Belle Vernon, Canon-McMillan, Charleroi, Franklin Area, Jefferson Morgan, Laurel Highlands, Mapletown, and Penn Trafford. The games will begin at 9:00am and streaming services are being provided by The Esport Company.

The Super Smash Brothers tournament will also be a double elimination event with matches being best-of-three. There are seven high schools participating in this event: Belle Vernon, Canon-McMillan, Franklin Area, Hollidaysburg Area, Laurel Highlands, Mapletown, and Youth Places. The games will also begin at 9:00am. 

This is the third time the esports team has hosted this event. Previous winners include Trinity, Canon-McMillan, and Belle Vernon. Special thanks to the sponsors of the event, The Esport Company and Intermediate Unit 1.
