Waynesburg, Pa. (March 2) - The esports team had a nearly .500 week going 8-9 bringing their overall record to 32-33.
The Smash Bros. team continued their unbeatened record picking up three wins. They beat SUNY Polytechnic 2-1 on Monday, Tiffin 2-0 on Tuesday, and Buena Vista 2-0 on Friday. The Wildcats from SUNY Poly gave the Jackets a hard match. After winning the first game the Wildcats came back to win game two. The final game featured strong play from
Cash Wieczorek and freshman
Braiden Decker to close out the match. The Tiffin match was a total team effort featuring great play from
Aaron Beard,
Braiden Decker,
Justin Morales, and
Makai'o Nihipali-Sanchez. During the shutout win, the Jackets never lost the lead in either game. The final match against Buena Vista was another impressive shutout and puts the team in prime postion for playoff runs on both NECC and ECAC.
The Valorant team had a rough going for week four. They lost both matches 0-2 against Southern Nazerene and Sacred Heart. Sophomore
Bobby Ballentyne lead the team offensively in the Southern Nazerene match with 22 kills and a 1.39 KD. Freshman
Nate Mayket was close behind with 18 kills and a 1.18 KD. Despite leading both teams in the Sacred Heart match with 49 kills and 8 assists,
Bobby Ballentyne was unable to lift the team to a victory in either game. The Valorant team falls to 3-5 on the season losing three in a row and have a very small chance of making the post season.
The Marvel Rivals team also had a tough outing this week losing their only match against Clark 1-3. After winning the first game 2-1, the Jackets lost three straight to lose the match 1-3. Freshman
Caitlin Nguyen played a multi-role match featuring play in all three roles. Freshman

Cash Wieczorek also provided strong play but unfortunately not enough to bring home a win.
Jarvis Thomas picked up a forfeit win in his NBA2K match against Buffalo State.
The varsity Rocket League team split their week 1-1 winning 4-1 against Washtenaw and losing their second match 3-4 in a very close game against John Brown. The week brings their overall record to 4-4 and are in good position to make a playoff run in the NECC. Captain Bobby Balletnyne along with freshman

Cade Henderson played a masterful team game in their 4-1 win over Washtenaw. Likewise, they played a great team game but lost in the final game to lose the match 3-4.
The JV Rcoket League team had a perfect week going 2-0 beating Southern Virginnia 4-2 and WVU Tech 4-0. The team improved their record to 6-1 and are poised for playoff runs in both NECC and ECAC. Captain
Joel Menear has done an excellent job leading his team to this record supported by freshman
Dayton Reynolds and sophomore
Nathan Bauza. The Jackets were dominant in both matches. The WVU Tech match featured a scoring bonanza by Nathan Bauze who amassed 13 goals in the four games and tallying 7 goals in the first game alone.
Jarvis Thomas played well, but was unable to come out on top in his Madden match against Morris Brown losing 0-2.
The varsity Overwatch team split their week 1-1 losing to SUNY Potsdam 1-3 and picking up a forfeit win against Queen's.Â
Felicia Duffy had 89 assists on Support;
Noah Westover had 114 eliminations on Tank.
The JV Overwatch team lost 0-3 to New England Institute of Technology. Despite the loss spirits were high as the team continues to build chemistry this semester.
Nate Mayket had 25 assists on Support;
Logan Brown had 36 eliminations on Tank.
