YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (February 1) – The Waynesburg University men's and women's indoor track & field teams logged several program top-10s, including one school record at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational on Saturday.
Quintin Weaver (Rimersburg, Pa. / Union) claimed his fourth Waynesburg indoor track record as he finished 12th in the mile in 4:24.62. He also notched the program's fourth-fastest 800 in 1:59.07, good for eighth place.
Maggie Clair (Canonsburg, Pa. / Canon McMillan) finished third in the shot put with a season-best distance of 11.19 meters. Her distance ranks sixth in Waynesburg indoor shot put history.
Kyle Casella (Clarksboro, N.J. / Kingsway) notched a personal record in the 400, clocking in at 53.51, good for seventh-place in Waynesburg indoor track history.
Fresh off setting Waynesburg's shot put record,
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) placed 10th in the elite shot put flight. His toss of 13.93 meters was good for 10th in the elite category and sixth in team history.
Garrett Hillard (Greenville, Pa. / Greenville) was 15th in the weight throw (12.74 meters) and 16th in the open shot put (12.37 meters).
Virtue Bama (Baltimore, Md. / Baltimore Polytechnical Institute) and
Adam Helbling (McDonald, Pa. / South Fayette) tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.70 meters.
Noah Jones (Rockville, Md. / Sandy Spring Friends) was Waynesburg's top finisher in the 60-meter dash (7.21) and
Michael Wines (Hamlin, W.Va. / Nitro) notched a PR (23.71) in the 200.
Grace Tanksley (Bedford, Ind. / Bedford North Lawrence) took more than a minute off her 3k PR with a time of 11:47.09.
Chloe Fields (Linesville, Pa. / Conneaut) ran a personal-best mile of 6:02.57 and
Lilly Ryer (Indiana, Pa. / Marion Center) recorded a season-best mile time of 6:07.44
The Jackets' men's 4x400 relay unit of Casella, Jones,
Aaron Sanders (Peters Township, Pa. / Peters Township) and Weaver posted the top Division III time at the meet and the second-fastest mark in program history at 3:34.65
