NEW ORELEANS (March 19) – Waynesburg University sophomore
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa / Bishop Carroll) collected All-Region accolades in the shot put by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2024-25 indoor season.
Harker claimed the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) shot put title with a program-record heave of 15.17 meters. All four of Harker's scored shot puts at the conference championship meet would have won the PAC crown and he became the first Yellow Jacket to eclipse 15 meters in the shot put.
Harker placed third in the weight throw at PACs with another personal best and team record. His mark of 14.40 meters in the weight throw earned him All-PAC Honorable Mention honors, just a centimeter behind second place.
All-region honors are awarded to the top-five individuals in each event in every region. Harker's shot put distance of 15.17 meters ranked fourth in the Division III Mid-Atlantic Region. Harker is the first Waynesburg thrower to collect USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
The Waynesburg men's indoor track & field team tied for seventh at the PAC Indoor Championships. The Jackets had four all-conference performances at the PAC meet and broke two program records.
