ALLIANCE, Ohio (Jan. 31) – The Waynesburg University men's indoor track & field team traveled to the Wuske Invite, which was hosted by the University of Mount Union, on Saturday. There was no team scoring at the event.
The Yellow Jackets were led by junior
Jacob Harker (Lilly, Pa. / Bishop Carroll), who placed ninth in the 30-man shotput with a heave of 14.53 meters (47-8), which ranks fourth in program history. Sticking in the field events, sophomore
Michael Wines (Hamlin, W.Va. / Nitro) logged the number-nine distance in the long jump, which measured 6.26 meters (20-6.5). That effort tied for sixth place in program history.
Wines also made an impact on the track, placing a team-best 16
th out of 33 runners in the 60 meters with a time of 7.31 seconds.
Sophomore
Ethan Wilson (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Redeemer Lutheran) logged a solid showing in the mile run. He finished fifth out of 15 competitors with a time of 4:36.96, which puts him in seventh place in program history.
The Jackets featured two runners who placed in the top half of the 20-man 400 meters. Senior
Dagyn Williams (Leslie, Ark., Marshall) placed ninth with a time of 54.06 seconds, before junior
Kyle Casella took 10
th with a mark of 54.55 seconds.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 7, when they travel to the Bob Shannon Invitational at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
