Waynesburg, Pa. (April 10) - Waynesburg Overwatch are NECC champions. The Jackets defeated the University of Mount Union on Thursday in a close five map series to win the Division IX East crown. Waynesburg came out strong with a 2-0 win on map 1, followed by a 0-3 loss on map 2. Mount Union came out strong on map 3, but Waynesburg reverse swept to win the map. Map 4 began in a similar fashion as Mount Union broke out to an early 0-2 lead, but with a make or break play from Felicia Duffy, Waynesburg were able to once again reverse sweep and clutch out the map 3-2. Map 5, match point on King's Row was defined by an all or nothing overtime play from Waynesburg catching Mount Union by surprise. Waynesburg claimed a 4-1 victory, with their one map loss in the finals being the only point they allowed the entire season. Career high stats from everyone on the team. Jacob Parks on Tank had 163 eliminations and 62,000 damage. On Damage Jordan Parkins had 132 eliminations and Jackson Medvec had 118. On Support Felica Duffy had 153 assists and Ryan Sullivan put up 42,000 healing.

Waynesburg will play in the NECC Division IX national tournament beginning April 25th.
