CANONSBURG, Pa. (April 7) – The Waynesburg University men's golf team placed sixth at the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational, hosted by Washington & Jefferson at the Southpointe Golf Cub on Monday.
The Yellow Jackets totaled 337 strokes, 20 strokes out of third place. Grove City edged host W&J for the tournament title by two strokes with a team score of 311.
Alan Tarolli (Washington, Pa. / Fort Cherry) led Waynesburg's individuals in the 41-man field. He posted an 81 to finish in a seven-way tie for 11th place.
Brock Bayles (Clarksville, Pa. / Jefferson-Morgan) followed a stroke behind Tarolli (82) to tie for 18th.
Matt Karpeal (Smithfield, Pa. / Albert Gallatin) tied for 29th at 86 strokes.
Connor Jacobs (Waynesboro, Pa. / Waynesboro) (35th) and
Nate Barnhart (Washington, Pa. / Trinity ) (41st) rounded out Waynesburg's lineup.
The Jackets compete at Carlow on Saturday.
