Waynesburg, Pa. (May 2) - The Overwatch team won two games tonight to secure a spot in the NECC national championship game. The team defeated Saint Vincent College 3-0 and Oklahoma City Univeristy 3-1. The team continued its dominant run through the NECC with their strong play and teamwork. Jacob "Sundance" Parks lead the team in nearly every offensive category and was acknowledged with six Play of the Game awards during the two matches.

Senior, Ryan Sullivan, and Junior, Felicia Duffy, played vital support roles providing mass healing to their teammates. Freshmen Jackson Medvec and Jordan Parkins rounded out the Jackets offensive attack and played critical roles in almost all of the team fights.

These wins mark the second esports team to advance to a national title game this week. The Rocket League team won their semifinal match on Wednesday night to also advance to their national championship game next week. This also marks the first time ever that two Waynesburg athletic teams will play for a national title in the same year and the first trip to a national title game since 1966.

Dates and times for the national championship games will be released soon. The matches will be streamed on https://twitch.tv/theesportcompany.
